Removing the text endings gets me. The first game removed them and instead gave each character an CGI movie. Each clip alone would cost way more to produce than simply hiring a translator rewrite the endings in English. That cost Capcom money.
The second game not using it was just laziness on their part. I've heard the retcons are due to Capcom not wanting to use the Arika characters much more. I remember most of them (Allen, Docterine Dark, Cracker Jack, Hokuto) had origins tied to Capcom-owned characters. Maybe Arika thought Capcom would have bought them because back in the late 90's the Big C had a lot of money from their fighting game sales. But instead Capcom said no so Arika re-rewrote their stories so they could use them in their own produced games.
I'm still waiting on that 3DS game they were making staring Nanase, Kairi, and the rest they announced last year.
EX2 is an under-rated fighting game. I still think the graphics push the ps1 to the limits. The textures on Hayate's outfit are so detailed. It almost looks like a Dreamcast game.
Fantastic work on Nanase. I'm much better with her gloomier big sister. You even manage to make Nanase look more mature and battle ready with her expression. Well done. I love all your work and I hope to see some more work of yours in Udon's next two hardcovers "Wages of Sin" & "Super Street Fighter" volume 2.
I love Nanase! She's one of my favorite characters from the criminally under-appreciated EX series. I wish Capcom would put some of those characters in a new fighter. But let's face it, Capcom can't do anything right these days. :/
