Bliss Barson Statue - Prototype by Robaato Bliss Barson Statue - Prototype by Robaato
Here are a few photos of the actual limited edition 3D Printed Bliss Barson figure! She's at 1/7 scale, and she stands approximately 9.5 inches tall.

Personally? Yup, I really like how she came out! Esmy is currently being finished, and should be next up to show real soon. For those who missed out on the Kickstarter for the game I'm working on with some great people, and couldn't get either the Bliss or Esmy figure, will be able to do so soon. We will have a few extra pieces printed, and will offer preorders for them. Just a heads up: they will cost $150 each, and will not be printed again, and that'll be the ONLY time one would be able to get one.

Ooh. I thought this was a mini. It's a pretty large figure... still great though, and that's an understatement.

Ahh, yeah! Yeah, I don't think a mini could have that much sharp detail in it, haha!

So I'm guessing this is a laser formed 3d print?  Is it multiple pieces printed separately and then assembled?

Yup, that's correct!

Out of curiosity, why are you printing all the figures?  Laser print material is quite expensive, and the process fairly time intensive.  It seems like it'd be more economical to print your prototype and then use it as a master for molds?

That's what we're doing. This is just the prototype. Print prototype once, mold off it for the run.

Ahh, the way you had used "printed" to describe the manufacturing process in the original post confused me.

Wow- it's rare to see a 3D print done with such precision. Even down to the eyelashes and fingernails, not to mention the more subtle wrinkles that would usually get blurred away. I'm really curious what printer was used, or what kind of service if it's publicly available.
