Commission for :iconquete-de-l-aube: of her OC Tyra, with my fun little spin on her as a request. I did a little bit of experimenting with the new brush stroke randomizer on Sketchbook Pro 6 for this one as well. Mad fun. (Disclaimer: It's supposed to be over-the-top.)

TOOLS: SketchbookPro6/PhotoshopCS6/Cintiq21UX
MUSIC: Etrian Odyssey 4 OST - Yuzo Koshiro

Tyra Oeil-de-loup, Marthin Mepthes and other characters from La Quête de l'Aube are copyright to Marie-Laure Cabot (aka Melandrhild) and Frederik Filliaert.

Where do you get the reference for anatomy and pose man?! Or do even take reference at all..? They look so fluid!

Well this is all from top of the head. I usually study separately (and very hardcore) and apply it to my overall knowledge, that way I can pretty much come up with any pose I like in my head based on how much I already know from it. :)

So yeah, I use reference when studying, no reference at all for actual pieces. Though it's been so long since my last study session, it generally gets easier the more you do it.

Wow man... you're very good! Even I don't use ref, but my consistency varies. You must be practicing like crazy 'cuz those drawing shows.
